We woke up early in the morning – my wife, our two kids, and I – ready for our day trip to Prasonisi. We went down for breakfast at our hotel in Kallithea and enjoyed everything the buffet had to offer – fresh bread, fruit, cereal, and of course coffee for the adults.

After breakfast, we packed towels, sunscreen, hats, and snacks into the car and set off. The drive to the southern tip of Rhodes was beautiful, and we made two short stops along the way to cool off. The first was at a small beach near Apolakkia, where we took a quick swim. The second was just before Gennadi, at a long sandy beach where the kids played in the sand while we enjoyed the water.

When we arrived at Prasonisi, the view was amazing – a strip of sand separating two seas: the Aegean with its waves on one side, and the calmer Mediterranean on the other. The place was full of activity, with windsurfers and kitesurfers filling the horizon.

We spent the whole day there. The kids tried inflatable rides and paddleboarding, I gave windsurfing a go, while my wife preferred swimming in the calm waters. We also relaxed, sunbathed, and enjoyed the sea until late in the afternoon.

The drive back was quiet, with all of us a bit tired but happy. Prasonisi left us with wonderful memories and is definitely a place worth visiting if you ever come to Rhodes.
