After much thought, my family and I decided to visit the island of Rhodes in June 2025. We already had some positive opinions from acquaintances and friends who visited Rhodes earlier in the same year.

Our holidays in Rhodes–June 2025

Our vacation lasted 8 days, and we managed to see almost everything on the island. I believe that the ideal duration of a vacation in Rhodes is about 12 days, and you will have time to visit all the attractions and additional free time to relax on some of the wonderful beaches of the island.

For our transportation, we preferred the company Rodos Car Rent A Car. It is a local company and has an office inside Rhodes airport. So, we did not have to use any bus etc., to get to the office like other companies that exist on the internet that are usually a little cheaper. So we made the reservation about 1 month before arriving in Rhodes and we also used the free Web-Check service, and when we arrived at the company's office, we simply signed the contract, paid, and the friendly company staff gave us the car which was in the parking lot 80 meters from the terminal.

We were staying in a 4* hotel which only included breakfast. So we had the opportunity to explore local restaurants with traditional and international food. Generally, in whichever restaurants we sat, the prices were quite affordable and the food was excellent. We tried traditional dishes such as goat with lemon sauce, stuffed meat and of course fresh fish. We did not miss tasting local sweets, such as melekounia.

During our stay, we started our exploration from the old town of Rhodes, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The narrow cobblestone streets, the medieval walls and the impressive Acropolis of the Grand Master transported us to another era. A walk to Mandraki, where the characteristic windmills and deer of Rhodes are located, was also a special experience.

We could not miss a day trip to Lindos. The view from the Acropolis of Lindos is breathtaking, while the village with its white houses is ideal for photos and a leisurely walk.

As for the beaches, we visited many, but we singled out Tsambika for its warm, shallow waters, Anthony Quinn with its blue-green color and Prasonisi, which is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts.

A particularly pleasant surprise was Filerimos and the Valley of the Butterflies, a natural paradise that combines tranquility and beauty. There we enjoyed a unique walk in nature, away from the noise of the city.

Leaving Rhodes, we felt that the days passed quickly, but they left us full of beautiful images, flavors and memories. It is a destination that combines history, nature, sea and hospitality.

I would definitely visit Rhodes again at the first opportunity.
